Bible Study – Step By Step Into Heaven – February 8, 2026
In last week’s Bible Study, we touched on GOD
establishing earth time when HE separated the night from the day.
We do life upon earth split second by split second.
Timing matters when it comes to doing life on planet earth, which GOD created.
GOD designed humans to live 120 years as recorded in:
Genesis 6:3 - Christian Standard Bible
3 Then
the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive and remain
with man forever, because he is indeed flesh [sinful, corrupt—given over to
sensual appetites]; nevertheless his days shall yet be [b]a hundred and
twenty years.”
GOD designed humans for a limited time upon planet earth,
then eternity. Eternity is just that “never ending.”
Life upon earth is the proving ground for all people. Where
will a person go after physical death?
The various religions have their own ideas regarding
eternity, which reveals that most, if not all, people have an internal sense
that life continues beyond the grave.
The Christian faith has JESUS, GOD’S only SON.
The Holy Spirit came upon the Virgin Mary and she
conceived JESUS.
This is GOD’S example to all regarding the power of GOD and
the power of The HOLY SPIRIT.
When The HOLY Spirit came upon The Virgin Mary, she willingly
conceived JESUS. JESUS willingly came from Heaven to be conceived by the Virgin
Mary and born human, yet JESUS was GOD’s only begotten SON, to atone for sin.
Sin is the barrier that prevents a person from going to
Heaven upon his/her physical death.
Sin is a barrier. GOD knew that the sin barrier had to be
broken for humans to enter Heaven which HE did through the Passion of JESUS – John
3:16-21: 16 For God loved the world in this way:[e] He gave[f] his one and
only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but
have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son
into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through
him. 18 Anyone who believes in him is not
condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because
he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God. 19 This
is the judgment: The light has come into the world, and people loved
darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil. 20 For
everyone who does evil hates the light and avoids it,[g] so that his (or her)
deeds may not be exposed. 21 But anyone who
lives by[h] the truth comes to the
light, so that his (or her) works may be shown to be accomplished by God.”
And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing
before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was
opened, which is the Book of Life;
and the dead were judged according to what they had done as written in
the books [that is, everything done while on earth].
The “Lamb’s Book of Life” is a divine register that
contains the names of those who have received eternal salvation through faith
in Jesus Christ. Whereas the “Book of Life” refers to a similar understanding, emphasizing
GOD’S record of the righteous.”
1. The Lamb’s Book of Life is a term that specifically
refers to a heavenly record recorded in Revelation 21:27
Nothing unclean
will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but
only those written in the Lamb’s book of life,
The names of believers are recorded in the Lamb’s Book of
Life. Those who have placed their faith in JESUS.
Do you want a guarantee? The Holy Spirit is the person of
faith guarantee that he or she is GOD’S Son or Daughter as recorded in 2 Corinthians 5:5:
He who has prepared us for this very thing is
God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.
The Book of Life is often used in conjunction with the “Lamb’s
Book of Life.”
Let’s consider Heaven ----
Revelation 21:22-27:
22 I
saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty [the Omnipotent, the Ruler of
all] and the Lamb are its temple. 23 And the city
has no need of the sun nor of the moon to give light to it, for the glory
(splendor, radiance) of God has illumined it, and the Lamb is its lamp and light. 24 The
nations [the redeemed people from the earth] will walk by its light, and the
kings of the earth will bring into it their glory. 25 By
day (for there will be no night there) its gates will
never be closed [in fear of evil]; 26 and they will
bring the glory (splendor, majesty) and the honor of the nations into it; 27 and
nothing that defiles or profanes or is
unwashed will ever enter it, nor anyone who practices abominations [detestable,
morally repugnant things] and lying, but only those [will be admitted]
whose names have been written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
The question a person has to answer is “Where will he or
she spend eternity?” I am aware of only two --- Heaven or Hell.
JESUS came to earth to be the propitiation for sin. What
is in the world is “propitiation”?
It is reconciliation. Sin separates all people from GOD
and JESUS. The shed blood of JESUS upon the cross and HIS death paid, in full,
the penalty for all sin.
We read in Hebrews 9:22:
According to the law almost everything
is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there
is no forgiveness.
JESUS willingly came to earth and gave HIS sinless life
to pay the price GOD required for sin, in full. The price for sin has been paid
but each person has to accept it by placing his or her faith in JESUS.
Those who place their faith in JESUS and HIS Passion are
“born again” Spiritually in his or her spirit by the Holy Spirit. All humans first
birth is physical, but all need to be “born again” Spiritually by placing their
faith in JESUS and HIS Passion. (JESUS’ virgin birth, physical life upon earth,
HIS sinless life, demonstrations that HE was GOD’S SON through the miracles HE performed
upon earth are all evidence that JESUS was the true Son of GOD. The greatest
proof is HIS physical death upon the cross and HIS FATHER, GOD, raised HIM from
death on the third day to eternal life.)
This is a foreshadow of our salvation from death to be
raised from death to eternal life. Thus, the term “born-again.”
In essence all who place his/her faith in JESUS die
physically but are raised from mortal death to eternal life.
Eternal life through faith in JESUS is GOD’S Gift to all
who place their faith in JESUS. Those who are “born again” will go to Heaven
before their earth suits dies. Their born-again Spirit will go instantly and
immediately to Heaven before their earth suits dies.

What awaits those who place their faith and trust in
JESUS?
The Apostle Paul wrote in 1
Corinthians 2:9 (Christian Standard Bible)
But as it is written, What no eye has seen, no
ear has heard, and no human heart has conceived— God
has prepared these things for those who love him.
To me that is awesome. No “eye has seen”, No
“ear has heard”, “No human heart has conceived” – Earth has great and awesome
beauty – No human eye has seen, no human ear has heard (I share with you a most
precious moment I had a number of years ago and years following the death of
our eldest Son, Ted. Ted was and is still precious to us. He had a wonderful,
precious, loving heart for all, especially JESUS. He loved JESUS and he loved
music. He played the guitar.
(I must quickly add that all of our children,
great and great grands are all wonderful, including via adoption, and love our
LORD JESUS.)
On with the experience, I had. I was approaching
the stop light a few miles from our home. I did not have our eldest son
on my mind. I did not hear his voice like I would hear another person
upon earth. It was at the core of my being where the Holy Spirit reveals truth.
It was completely unexpected, peaceful, loving, pure and precious. Our son Ted had
been in Heaven for a number of years when this took place.
I was listening to the car radio, and the
most beautiful guitar music came on the radio. It was most special. I felt immersed
in the music.
As the music was ending, I heard the voice of
our son, Ted. It was clear, distinct, pure, tender, loving tone, full of love
and grace, “Dad, if you think that is beautiful there, you should hear it here.”
WOW!!! That was years ago but I can still
hear his precious voice today. I thank JESUS and GOD for that precious moment
that rings so precious as I reflect on that moment, as I write this.
Folks, Heaven is real and is available to all
who will place their faith in JESUS as their Savior.
I quickly add a profound caution. DO NOT LET
MY EXPERIENCE LEAD YOU TO SEEK THE REALM OF THE DEAD, THE OCCULT. LET GOD
REVEAL TO YOU WHAT HE DESIRES. THE MOMENT I HAD CAME AS A GIFT FROM GOD. I DID
NOT SEEK IT.
Our human body must die and return to dust.
John 12:24 -- I assure you and most
solemnly say to
you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the
earth and dies, it remains alone [just one grain, never more].
But if it dies, it produces much grain and yields a harvest.
Dying to self multiplies our effectiveness as
“Born again” Christians.
But the Good News is through the miracle of Spiritual
Birth or as JESUS told Nicodemus, “Nicodemus, you have to be born again.”
That was true for Nicodemus, and it is true
for all humans.
GOD has made eternal provisions for those who
have not or do not reach the age of accountability. Accountability is not a
numerical age. THE HOLY SPIRIT reveals GOD to all humans in many different
ways.
The second coming of JESUS is ever closer.
The question is where will we spend eternity?
Will it be in Heaven, eternally with JESUS or in Hell, which was prepared for
Satan and the fallen angels ------
For if God did not [even] spare angels that
sinned, but threw them into hell and sent them to pits of gloom to be
kept [there] for judgment;
So, what awaits those who have been “born
again” through faith in JESUS?
But as it is written, What
no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human
heart has conceived— God has prepared these things for
those who love him.
Life upon earth is a gift from GOD and
eternity is GOD’S Gift to all who place their faith in JESUS.
I hope to see, you at the “marriage supper of
the LAMB.”
Ask JESUS to forgive you for all of your sins
and for JESUS to come into your heart and redeem you from Hell and make you
GOD’S eternal Son or Daughter, through the miracle of Spiritual Birth into HIS
eternal Family.
