Bible Study – Seek and You Will Find – Various – February 15, 2026

Genesis 1: 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.^[a]

GOD spoke earth into existence.

When GOD finished creating earth on the sixth day according to Genesis 1: ³¹ God saw all that he had made, and it was very good indeed. Evening came and then morning: the sixth day.

From the mind and heart of GOD, earth was created and so were the various forms of life to support the life that GOD created and formed upon earth.

Those who are alive upon earth are very special. Life is a gift from GOD.

When it came to mankind, we read in Genesis 1:27: So, God created man in his own image; he created him in the image of God;
he created them male and female.

From Adam, GOD formed Eve, Adam’s helpmate as we read in Genesis 2: ²¹ So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to come over the man, and he slept. God took one of his ribs and closed the flesh at that place. ²² Then the Lord God made the rib he had taken from the man into a woman and brought her to the man. ²³ And the man said:

This one, at last, is bone of my bone
and flesh of my flesh;
this one will be called “woman,”
for she was taken from man.

In essence, when Adam saw Eve, he went WOW!!! This is what I have been waiting for!

So, the origin of our human birth parents and thousands of years later, here we are doing life upon earth.

The question is what is next? There is life, things to explore and do and then physical death.

What next? Eternity. But eternity is mysterious and seems not tangible.

GOD is eternal. GOD desired all who place their faith in HIS only SON, JESUS to be born-again, so that the people who do, will be born-again Spiritually into GOD’S eternal Family.

The Bible is the revelation of GOD, JESUS, and THE HOLY SPIRIT on an ever-increasing scale. The THREE ARE ONE – THE HOLY TRINITY.

How do we know that?

The Holy Spirit is every Spiritually born-again person’s guarantee of eternal life. Not only eternal life but all who are born-again their citizenship is in Heaven as recorded in Philippians 3:20-21:

Our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly wait for a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. ²¹ He will transform the body of our humble condition into the likeness of his glorious body, by the power that enables him to subject everything to himself.

JESUS has come once but HE will come a second time to take all “born-again” believers, who are alive upon earth, to Heaven. When this happens, the true church will be removed from earth. All Holy Spirit born believers, who are alive at that instant, will be taken up with JESUS to Heaven. This is often referred to as the great escape.

Now that is Good News!!!

GOD gives to all who are “born again” the gift of the Holy Spirit to guarantee so those who ask JESUS to come into their hearts, the assurance of Salvation and eternal life as GOD’S eternal Son or Daughter.

Luke 10:21

THE SON, Reveals the FATHER

At that time, he (JESUS) rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, because this was your good pleasure.

We try to figure GOD out through our intellect, but we cannot.

GOD does place in our hearts the desire for all people to seek GOD by knocking.

Matthew 7:7

Ask, Search, Knock

“Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you.

What is a person seeking? Spiritual treasure that can only be found when a person places his or her faith in JESUS, the treasure of great price.

For humans to have eternal life, JESUS had to leave HIS home in Heaven and come to earth a 100% human, give HIS sinless life by the shedding of HIS sinless blood to atone for all sin.

GOD raised JESUS from the physically dead on the third day, our Sunday, to eternal life. JESUS is the example for all who place their faith in HIM and HIS passion.

When a person is “born again” in his or her spirit, he or she is eternally born into the eternal Family of GOD.

The Holy Spirit unites with the human spirit and Spiritual conception takes place quicker than the twinkle of the eye and the person of faith is born again in his or her spirit to become GOD’S eternal SON or DAUGHTER.

That is only the beginning of a person’s Spiritual journey.

We still seek and knock to discover truth and build upon our relationship with GOD, THE FATHER, GOD, THE SON and GOD, THE HOLY SPIRIT. THE THREE ARE ONE!!!

As we seek, GOD reveals truth. When we seek, we find on an ever-increasing scale, truth. Once we discover truth it becomes the solid rock upon which we build, as truth is revealed and discovered.

As we build upon this solid foundation, GOD equips us with more Spiritual Gifts, as revealed in 1 Corinthians 12.

These are not the only Spiritual Gifts. These are only a few of the Spiritual Gifts. The key is that we who are “born again,” are to seek the fulness of JESUS in our lives. As we obediently serve, The Holy Spirit equips us, as we seek to serve. We can desire certain Spiritual Gifts, but GOD is the giver. We, to whom our LORD gives Spiritual Gifts, are to use them as guided by the Holy Spirit.

I believe as we approach the second-coming of JESUS, we will witness a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

But here is a caution, Matthew 6:33

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.

In years past, I have witnessed the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and even those seeking the fulness of THE HOLY SPIRIT in their lives can get caught up in seeking the Gifts more than the Giver, WHO is GOD. Let’s explore!!!

Diversity of Spiritual Gifts

12 Now concerning spiritual gifts:^[a] brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be unaware. ² You know that when you were pagans, you used to be enticed and led astray by mute idols. ³ Therefore I want you to know that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

⁴ Now there are different gifts, but the same Spirit. ⁵ There are different ministries, but the same Lord. ⁶ And there are different activities, but the same God works all of them in each person. ⁷ A manifestation of the Spirit is given to each person for the common good: ⁸ to one is given a message of wisdom through the Spirit, to another, a message of knowledge by the same Spirit, ⁹ to another, faith by the same Spirit, to another, gifts of healing by the one Spirit, ¹⁰ to another, the performing of miracles, to another, prophecy, to another, distinguishing between spirits, to another, different kinds of tongues,^[b] to another, interpretation of tongues. ¹¹ One and the same Spirit is active in all these, distributing to each person as he wills.

Pay special attention to verse 11, “distributing to each person as he wills”.

We can desire but GOD distributes. Why?

Matthew 7:11

If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him.

Yes, GOD desires to give HIS Children Good Gifts that are used according to HIS will and purpose.

We have to watch our ego. We may desire a certain Spiritual Gift or Gifts, but GOD distributes as HE desires.

Unity Yet Diversity in the Body (This is key)

We may want to have a certain gift or gifts of the Spirit. We, who know the truth, can desire a certain Spiritual Gift but we must let GOD give us the Gift or Gifts HE chooses for us to obediently serve.

Just as in our world, we do not let our children have things that have the potential to do harm to them until they mature, and we know they can use it without harming themselves or others.

This is where Satan can wiggle into the lives of Spirit-born brothers and sisters to focus on having certain Gifts. We are to seek but let GOD give it or them to us as HE chooses.

¹² For just as the body is one and has many parts, and all the parts of that body, though many, are one body—so also is Christ. ¹³ For we were all baptized by^[c] one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and we were all given one Spirit to drink. ¹⁴ Indeed, the body is not one part but many. ¹⁵ If the foot should say, “Because I’m not a hand, I don’t belong to the body,” it is not for that reason any less a part of the body. ¹⁶ And if the ear should say, “Because I’m not an eye, I don’t belong to the body,” it is not for that reason any less a part of the body. ¹⁷ If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? ¹⁸ But as it is, God has arranged each one of the parts in the body just as he wanted. ¹⁹ And if they were all the same part, where would the body be? ²⁰ As it is, there are many parts, but one body. ²¹ The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” Or again, the head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” ²² On the contrary, those parts of the body that are weaker are indispensable. ²³ And those parts of the body that we consider less honorable, we clothe these with greater honor, and our unrespectable parts are treated with greater respect, ²⁴ which our respectable parts do not need.

Instead, God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the less honorable, ²⁵ so that there would be no division in the body, but that the members would have the same concern for each other. ²⁶ So if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

²⁷ Now you are the body of Christ, and individual members of it. ²⁸ And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, next miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, leading, various kinds of tongues.^[d] 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all do miracles? ³⁰ Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? ³¹ But desire the greater gifts. And I will show you an even better way.

Diversity yet unity…..

What is the better way? 1 Corinthians 13 - Love

There are many other Spiritual Gifts. Seek them but let GOD give them to you as you seek to serve in the vineyard of earth.

What do we know? We know that all people are alive on this planet for a certain time. Life can be a mystery which has to be revealed as we seek and knock. GOD gave us inquiring minds and the sense of venture.

John 3:16-20: ¹⁶ For God loved the world in this way:^[e] He gave^[f] his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. ¹⁷ For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. ¹⁸ Anyone who believes in him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God. ¹⁹ This is the judgment: The light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil. ²⁰ For everyone who does evil hates the light and avoids it,^[g] so that his deeds may not be exposed. ²¹ But anyone who lives by^[h] the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be shown to be accomplished by God.”

Even though we are GOD’S Son or Daughter our enemy is the devil/Satan.

But what do we know as GOD’S SON or DAUGHTER?

We read in 1 John 4:1-6

The Spirit of Truth and the Spirit of Error

4 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

² This is how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, ³ but every spirit that does not confess Jesus^[a] is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming; even now it is already in the world.

⁴ You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. ⁵ They are from the world. Therefore, what they say is from the world, and the world listens to them. ⁶ We are from God. Anyone who knows God listens to us; anyone who is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deception.

Folks, as we get closer to the second coming of JESUS, we who know the truth are to be aware of deception as we read in Matthew 24:24

For false messiahs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

Know the truth as revealed by the indwelling Holy Spirit.
